daddy was a vagabond that’s just another word for up and gone still he would have been a better mom he was miles ahead of that atomic bomb it’s not your fault you could barely crawl between daddy and you you pulled the shortest straw and you could cry about it while pulling up another set of stakes or you could go on getting on while it’s still good enough to take a chance at a mistake a shot at something greater than and at school you’d rather be unseen because when you show up they start being mean the kids are mean now your own life is just as hard they say you’re free but you’re not in charge and you could cry about it while pulling up another set of stakes or you could go on getting on while it’s still good enough to take a chance at a mistake a shot at something greater than

wake up your half filled cup wave goodbye to our fucked luck there are so many way ways we got messed up it just takes one to get unstuck Hey Don't walk away these are just the games we play it's not strange it's so much weight no one always gets their way the grass is greener when you're in the dark a ray of light could bust your heart so many get swayed by the latest craze but I won't need more as long as you'll stay Hey Don't walk away these are just the games we play it's not strange it's so much weight no one always gets their way oh hey just hesitate this is just the game we play it's not strange there's so much weight no one always get's their way just wait

Someone stole my keys, before I could leave they left me with no way home, with no way home then the night grew cold, and I started feeling old I walked until the sand met the sun, until the sand met the sun I came upon a man, being re-born on the sand He’s gave me a new life, and he took the old away my old life he took away He’d said he’d like to go home, for you can never go back home because you're different now and home is still the same you're stranger strange I woke up lost my mind felt deranged I found it odd, even odd for strange yeah, it's stranger strange A strange heart, can beat right through your skin turns your inside out can make you wish you’d never been I’d like to go home, but i can never go back home because i’m different now and home is still the same I’m stranger strange Everyone's a stranger and everybody's strange when a person becomes people something has to change A strange heart, can beat right through your skin turns your inside out can make you wish you’d never been I’d like to go home, but i can never go back home because i’m different now and home is still the same I’m stranger strange

Oh Me 03:53
concrete slab suggestions and i'm weathering the storm i'm calling in old favors and hoping somebody owes me one but old friends aren’t friends they go by different names you can’t predict how they’ll behave with a passing smile a hug or a hey a vow of love or a punch in the face I get to feel the full sway infatuation but with my enemy it's so frustrating while fending off invasion when I'd rather be oh me oh me tonight i’ve had a few and the truth be told, i’m having a few more I've got to blur the mark left by the line of another slam shut door I get to feel the full sway infatuation but with my enemy it's so frustrating while fending off invasion when I'd rather be oh me oh me the shotgun blast outlast redemption and I wonder what it’s all for the holes spill humiliation of another unsettled score I get to feel the full sway infatuation but with my enemy it's so frustrating while fending off invasion when I'd rather be oh me oh me I guess in real life there are things and situations and how you choose to be an open book or collected complications and all things in between Oh Me Oh Me My Memory

through her hair blows a soft storm when darkness falls there is no getting warm under covers is where she's born again I watch her drip as the snow lands so overdone and out of hand when we discovered that we were born again It’s a particular kind of hell out of the street lights in the dark night no one can tell so come on and tell me your name don’t try to play it unafraid there’s no one here looking to blame there’s no one here looking to blame nobody looking to blame it’s an abstract kind of art it’s not like a movie there’s no end scene and no one says start and I can see it all clear as day but mouths get in the way and eyes have got nothing to go by and eyes they got nothing to go by and eyes they got nothing to go by Looking back is a hand stand contorted movements of a desperate man and he fears nothing but starting out again the intersection where most of us live, where we crash cars and fuck up our kids where nothing dies it just gets born again

In my neighborhood they run their sprinklers in the rain all the houses look the same they'll never say a thing if they could call in to complain about the noise that you make Inside your own house, inside your house, inside your own house In this subdivided place they keep their dogs in their own space on rusty chain or tetanus cage they don't know its fun to play they are only taught to stay to sit and waste the day inside a dog house inside their house, inside their own house inside their house inside their own house windows now with bars that protect you from the cars when dead end streets don't go to far but never risk your stake cause know your always great when carefully contained inside your own house inside your house, inside your own house

I’m fully grown in your garden fend for myself in the dirt I don’t go begging your pardon I’m not your average worm the season of the brute is taking root it’s taking root the harvest of forbidden fruit just when you think there’s nothing left that they could do to you the subtle pull of persistence starts from deep in the earth my cultivated existence I'm the sum of what you desert the season of the brute is taking root it’s taking root the harvest of forbidden fruit when you believe there’s nothing left that you would care to lose the season of the brute is taking root the overgrowth in dependence all simple factors at work death on the vine in your image is that the result life’s lived for the season of the brute is taking root it’s taking root the harvest of forbidden fruit when you can’t accept that things are through here is your proof the season of the brute is taking root.

It’s not yet been told, but it’s not too long about the patron saint of where it all went wrong so as the fire burns low, allow me to tell of the unlikely man who walked right out of hell before the devil knew that he’d been bossed the little guys won the prince of darkness lost how cunning is a man who has no backup plan? who would do whatever he can just to get back to Susanne If you’ll pardon me, I got too far ahead I should have started out when our hero woke up dead an untimely death, that left him stuck paying less for sins and more for rotten luck how cunning is a man who has no backup plan? who would do whatever he can just to get back to Susanne She never knew how much I loved her i always thought I had more time with her I've gotta get out of here I've gotta get out of here I’ve got a couple tricks up my sleeve the devil’s got nothing on me. cause I don’t believe and i don't even believe I gotta get out of here I gotta get out of here I’ve got a couple tricks up my sleeve how cunning is a man who has no backup plan? who would do whatever he can just to get back to Susanne now ask yourself, what would you do if you woke up in hell without that one that you love true? how cunning is a man who has no backup plan? who would do whatever he can just to get back to Susanne

what's so great beyond that you send no word about your goings on what's so deep about your sleep that you won't wake up and talk to me you've been a long time gone I've been getting along around every corner I don't see what I expect the source of natural noise I guess incorrect I talk all alone but not to myself I could surely use some help Goodbye Ghost Goodbye Ghost Why song long in the long good night? it's not good night, I guess goodbye you've been a long time gone I've been getting along around every corner I don't see what I expect at the source of natural noise I 'm guessing incorrect I talk all alone but not to myself I could surely use some help Goodbye Ghost Goodbye Ghost

I crossed the desert just to get to the ocean 1500 miles of tested devotion This is a temporary town so get over it one day they’ll tear the whole place down and no one will care there will be no ceremony no one to make a phony speech just a brand new parking lot where your bastard kids can park some cars It’s gonna make beautiful ruins It’s gonna make beautiful ruins I felt deserted at the edge of an ocean 6 solid months of questioned notions this is a fine place to get lost i know it well the surgeon general’s warning says it’s worth the cost there's no one to tell cause there is no one listening they drive around just circling this is america's parking lot and you moved here to park the cars It’s gonna make beautiful ruins It’s gonna make beautiful ruins

about

When I first started working on this album it was going to be a double album. There were lots and lots of ideas kicking around and bunch of songs. I labored away on it for far to long and then I realized it was time to just make some tough cuts and wrap up at ten tracks. I'm glad I did because now I get to release it and you can hear it and I can do something else.
This album works well on a long car drive by yourself. Put it on when you clear traffic on a trip to Joshua Tree. You've been meaning to get out there and reconnect with nature anyway, so take this album and use it as an excuse to do that. It's time we all sit down and examine ourselves. Think about where we've been and where we are going. That's what I was trying to do with this collection of songs.

This album was recorded in a few different apartments and off limits environments. A lot of it was done at Downtown Rehearsal in DTLA. Some of it was done in my uncles basement in Kansas. Some of the sounds are field recordings in various locations.

I want to thank everyone, and in particular all my relatives and friends.

I, Brandon Strecker wrote, recorded and mixed this record. Ronnie and Devin wrote and played some parts. My Wife sang some and put up with a lot of noise.

Myles Matisse played Drums on Stranger Strange.

Kraig "Hoagie" Hill gave valuable advice at a number of points through the process, for this I am grateful.

Devin Tait Strecker took the photo and designed the cover. Super shout out to him.

S no S Los Angeles, California

S no S is the creation of Brandon Glen Strecker of the band Turbo Sunshine. It's a repository of expressions and ideas that would otherwise have no home. That said S no S is no side project, it's a labor of devotion and exploration. It's the ear end of the stethoscope hovering over a bleeding heart. ... more
